Beltzville State Park is a 3,002-acre Pennsylvania state park in Carbon County, nestled in the southern foothills of the Poconos around the 949-acre Beltzville Lake, created by a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam on Pohopoco Creek for flood control.
Opened in 1972 after relocating the Big Creek Valley village, it offers boating, kayaking, water skiing, fishing for trout, bass, walleye, and muskellunge, plus a popular sand beach open Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Visitors enjoy 15 miles of trails for hiking and biking through forests and meadows, wildlife watching including migrating waterfowl and songbirds, hunting on over 1,700 acres, picnicking, and interpretive programs at the environmental center.
