Park
Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park occupies the southern tip of Key Biscayne near Miami, Florida, USA, spanning nearly 500 acres with over a mile of pristine Atlantic beachfront, coastal hammocks, mangroves, and Biscayne Bay shoreline.
Home to the historic 1825 Cape Florida Lighthouse—the oldest standing structure in Miami-Dade County—named by Ponce de León in 1513, the park honors journalist Bill Baggs and served as a refuge for Seminoles and escaped slaves heading to the Bahamas.
Visitors climb 109 steps for panoramic views of Stiltsville and Miami Beach, swim and snorkel on Dr. Beach-ranked sands, kayak mangrove trails, fish from the seawall, bike or hike paths, picnic, and camp, with No Name Harbor for boating.
