Island
Blake Island is a 476-acre marine state park in Puget Sound, Washington, USA, situated between Bainbridge Island to the north and Vashon Island to the south, about 8 miles southwest of downtown Seattle.
An ancestral seasonal campsite for the Suquamish Tribe and reputed birthplace of Chief Seattle, it was logged in the 19th century, used by bootleggers during Prohibition, and acquired by the state in 1959 after passing through private hands.
Accessible only by boat or ferry, it features five miles of shoreline, forested hiking trails, beaches for picnicking and wildlife viewing, primitive campsites, and the former Tillicum Village site with its longhouse, offering kayaking, fishing, and scenic vistas of the Cascades and Olympics.
