Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park spans 148 acres near Mount Olivet in Robertson and Nicholas counties, Kentucky, marking the site of the Battle of Blue Licks on August 19, 1782—the final clash of the American Revolutionary War where Kentucky militiamen, including Daniel Boone, faced British rangers and Native American allies.
Named for ancient salt springs that drew prehistoric animals like bison and woolly mammoths, the park features a monument, burial ground for fallen soldiers, the Pioneer Museum with fossils, Native American artifacts, pioneer relics, and a battle diorama, plus a 15-acre nature preserve protecting the federally endangered Short's goldenrod.
Visitors enjoy a 32-room lodge, 51 campground sites, canoeing and fishing on the Licking River, the 1-mile Licking River Trail, playgrounds, mini-golf, swimming, birding, picnicking, and annual mid-August battle re-enactments.
