Park
Blue Mountain Forest State Scenic Corridor is a protected evergreen forest park in Umatilla and Union Counties, Oregon, USA, stretching along Interstate 84 (Old Oregon Trail Highway) between Deadman's Pass and Spring Creek.
It preserves one of the few mature old-growth forests on this route from Ogden, Utah, to The Dalles, Oregon, with stands of ponderosa pine, western larch, Engelmann spruce, lodgepole pine, and grand fir supporting wildlife like white-tailed deer, mule deer, Rocky Mountain elk, and cougar.
Acquired from 1927 to 1937, the day-use corridor offers scenic pullouts, spring wildflowers, and fall colors amid undisturbed native plants, providing travelers a serene break in the Blue Mountains without facilities beyond basic viewpoints.
