Park
Chesterfield Gorge Natural Area is a 13-acre state park along Route 9 in Chesterfield, New Hampshire, preserving a dramatic rocky gorge carved by Wilde Brook with 70-foot walls, waterfalls, and cascades.
This easy-to-moderate 0.7-mile loop trail follows the brook through hemlock-shaded hemlocks, offering scenic views of rock formations, bridges, and historic bridge abutments, ideal for hiking, photography, picnicking, and wildlife spotting. Originally protected by farmer George White in 1936 and opened as a wayside picnic area in 1948, it features a seasonal visitor center and carry-in-carry-out rules, with pets allowed on leashes.
