Park
Crawford State Park, located one mile south of Crawford in Delta County on Colorado's Western Slope, spans 337 acres around the 400-acre Crawford Reservoir at 6,600 feet elevation, established in 1964 and managed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife since 1965.
Built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in 1963, the reservoir supports boating with ramps for motorized crafts, sailing, jet skiing, swimming at a designated beach, and fishing for rainbow trout, perch, crappie, largemouth bass, catfish, and northern pike, alongside 1.8 miles of shared hiking and biking trails, 66 campsites with electric hookups, picnicking, hunting, birdwatching, and winter ice fishing or cross-country skiing.
The park's mild year-round climate amid pinyon-juniper woodlands, sagebrush shrublands, riparian wetlands, and stunning views of Needle Rock, West Elk Mountains, and proximity to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park makes it a serene base for outdoor adventures.
