Winery
Eagles Landing Winery is a small, family-owned winery located in downtown Marquette in the scenic Driftless Region of northeast Iowa along the Mississippi River.
Founded in 2000 by Roger and Connie Halvorson as a retirement hobby, it grew steadily with their son Jay joining as master winemaker in 2003. The winery produces between 6,000 and 7,000 cases annually, focusing on a diverse range of wines including many Midwestern-style sweet wines, as well as dry and specialty varieties crafted from fruits like locally grown grapes such as Edelweiss, Marquette, and Frontenac Gris.
Eagles Landing is known for its warm hospitality, wine garden shaded by natural grapevines, live music, and events. The winery’s historical offices are in the former home of Emma Big Bear, a respected Winnebago Native American artisan. Recently, under new ownership, the winery added a craft pizza kitchen to enhance the visitor experience while continuing to produce award-winning wines enjoyed throughout Iowa and Wisconsin.
