Park
Gete Mino Mshkiigan State Park is an undeveloped 147-acre preserve in Cheboygan County, Michigan, along the shores of Mullett Lake, named in Anishinaabemowin as "Ancient Good Wetlands" to honor its historical and ecological significance.
Acquired by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources in 2013 from the Little Traverse Conservancy after logging and private ownership, it features mixed coniferous-deciduous forests, emergent wetlands covering 35% of the land, 1,500 feet of pristine lakefront, and the North Central State Trail running through the property.
Open for hunting, trapping, hiking on unmarked former roads, and beach access with shoulder parking along M-27, it lacks facilities or staff but offers quiet nature immersion amid the Inland Waterway chain.
