Rich in Civilian Conservation Corps history with a unique 1930s pueblo-style beach house, it offers canoeing, kayaking, and no-wake boating on superb fishing waters stocked with bluegill, redear sunfish, largemouth bass, and channel catfish, plus one of southern Iowa's finest sandy beaches.
A 7-mile lakeshore trail winds through prairie and woods for hiking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing, complemented by 89 campsites (44 electric), 13 cabins, shaded picnics, playgrounds, and erosion controls enhancing water clarity.
