Park

Memaloose State Park is a 441-acre campground oasis at the eastern end of Oregon's Columbia River Gorge in Wasco County, USA, located 11 miles west of The Dalles along Interstate 84 (westbound access via Exit 69, eastbound via Exit 76).

Named after Memaloose Island—a sacred Chinook Native American burial site visible across the river with pioneer Victor Trevitt's granite monument—it features 43 full-hookup RV sites, 66 tent spots with water nearby, 20 overflow sites, hot showers, flush toilets, dump station, playground, and grassy meadows shaded by maples, willows, and cottonwoods, open mid-March to October.

Popular for stargazing, picnicking, biking, birding, and exploring nearby Historic Columbia River Highway overlooks like Rowena Crest with spring wildflowers, note no safe river access, constant train and highway noise, and standard state park fees.
