OC&E Woods Line State Trail is Oregon's longest linear state park at 109 miles, running through Klamath and Lake counties from Klamath Falls east to Bly and north to Sycan Marsh along the abandoned railbeds of the Oregon, California & Eastern Railroad and Weyerhaeuser Woods Line.
This fee-free, year-round non-motorized trail—paved for the first 8 miles from Klamath Falls to Olene, then graded gravel—welcomes hikers, cyclists, equestrians, anglers, and wildlife viewers through diverse landscapes of farmland, juniper-sagebrush hills, thick forests, spring-fed creeks, and expansive wetlands, with highlights like Swede's Cut, the towering Merritt Creek Trestle, and Horse Glade Trailhead camping.
Maintained by Oregon Parks and Recreation Department since the 1990s rail-to-trail conversion, it draws over 130,000 visitors annually for its gentle 2% grade, historical railroad remnants, and remote serenity, though users must pack water as none is provided beyond urban sections.
