Park
Penn-Roosevelt State Park covers 41 acres in an isolated pocket of the Seven Mountains region's Stone Creek Kettle within Rothrock State Forest, Harris Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, accessible six miles south of U.S. Route 322 via Crowfield or Stone Creek Road.
Built by a segregated African-American Civilian Conservation Corps camp in the 1930s, it features a 3.5-acre man-made lake stocked with trout for fishing, rustic picnic pavilions, modern camping sites, and short trails serving as gateways to the Mid-State Trail and surrounding 80,000 acres of state forest.
Open year-round sunrise to sunset with no hunting allowed in the park itself, it offers low-impact hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and peaceful solitude amid forested hills.
