Casino
Pioneer Club Las Vegas was a landmark Old West-themed casino at 25 East Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, opening on April 10, 1942, in a 1918 building that started as a restaurant. It expanded in 1965 by acquiring the adjacent Elwell Hotel (renamed Pioneer Club Hotel, later sold as Golden Hotel) and in 1983 by buying Club Bingo, briefly operating as New Pioneer Club from 1956-1967 under various owners including colorful figures tied to early gaming. Famous for its neon cowboy "Vegas Vic" sign (now at the Neon Museum), it thrived as a Fremont Street staple until closing as a casino in 1995 coinciding with the Fremont Street Experience opening, later repurposed as retail space.
