Park
Saint Edward State Park is a 326-acre day-use park straddling Kenmore and Kirkland in King County, Washington, along Lake Washington's northeast shore, featuring the longest stretch of undeveloped freshwater shoreline on the lake.
Originally logged in the 19th century and later a Catholic seminary from the 1920s until sold to the state in 1977, it now offers miles of forested trails for hiking and mountain biking through second-growth Douglas fir, cedar, hemlock, and madrona canopies with ferns and moss, descending 400 feet to a pebbly beach ideal for contemplation or fishing.
Visitors enjoy the historic seminary building housing Bastyr University, expansive picnic areas for up to 150 people, the state's largest playground, sports fields, birdwatching, and year-round access requiring a Discover Pass.
