Schafer State Park is a 122-acre public recreation area along the Satsop River in Mason County, Washington, situated midway between Olympia and Aberdeen.
Donated in 1924 by the Schafer Brothers' Logging Company to honor John and Anna Schafer, it features historic WPA-era stone buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2010, plus camping, two miles of hiking trails, steelhead and salmon fishing, swimming, birdwatching, wildlife viewing, horseshoes, and interpretive activities. The park offers family-friendly shallow river wading, new campgrounds and cabins, and scenic drives from Elma or Highway 12.
