Steamboat Lake State Park is a Colorado state park of about 2,800 acres in Routt County, roughly 27 miles north of Steamboat Springs near the small community of Hahns Peak.
The park centers on a 1,050–1,100‑acre high‑elevation reservoir sitting at about 8,100 feet in the Willow Creek Valley, surrounded by the Park Range and views of the Continental Divide. Visitors enjoy boating, water skiing, jet skiing, fishing, and swimming when the lake is open in warmer months, plus hiking and biking on more than 7 miles of trails that also connect to nearby Routt National Forest.
The park offers a large campground with around 180+ sites, picnic areas, and a marina with a swim beach, while its wetlands and forests attract abundant wildlife such as moose, black bear, mule deer, fox, sandhill cranes, and many bird species, making it a popular year‑round escape in northwestern Colorado.
