Sunset Meadow Vineyards is a family-owned winery situated on over 160 acres of scenic land in the Litchfield Hills of Goshen, Connecticut.
The property, purchased by George and Judy Motel in 1996, was formerly a cattle farm before being transformed into a thriving vineyard. The first grape plantings started in 2001, and the tasting room opened in 2008, located in a restored 1890s German bank barn featuring estate antiques and hand-hewed beams.
Sunset Meadow grows a variety of grapes including Cayuga White, Chardonnay, Riesling, Vidal Blanc, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, among others, with a reputation for award-winning wines, especially reds. The vineyard emphasizes sustainable farming practices and offers visitors a warm, inviting atmosphere to enjoy wine tastings, live music, private events, and picturesque views of the surrounding countryside.
