The park features the 15-acre Pine Lake for boating, fishing, and swimming, moderate to difficult hiking trails extending into the forest, hunting for deer, turkey, and grouse, a campground, picnic areas with shelters, and vibrant spring wildflowers plus spectacular fall foliage, all developed in the 1930s by New Deal programs like the WPA.
This wild stronghold teems with salamanders, wild turkeys, ruffed grouse, bobcats, songbirds, and reptiles, evoking Ohio's untamed pioneer past.
