Park
Trace State Park, located seven miles east of Pontotoc and west of Tupelo off Mississippi Highway 6 in northeastern Mississippi, surrounds the 565-acre Trace Lake and honors the historic Natchez Trace trail, with ties to frontiersman Davy Crockett who once lived in the area.
It offers boating, waterskiing, and fishing on the lake, plus 35 miles of multi-use trails for mountain biking, horseback riding, and off-road vehicles like ATVs, alongside primitive and developed campsites, cabins, cottages, picnic areas, playgrounds, disc golf courses, and a nature trail.
Managed by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks near the Natchez Trace Parkway, the park provides a serene retreat with wildlife viewing and easy access to Tupelo attractions.
