Park
Tyler State Park spans 1,711 acres across Newtown and Northampton Townships in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, just 33 miles north of Philadelphia, where Neshaminy Creek meanders through preserved farm and woodland landscapes from the former Tyler Estate.
Developed from 18 farms acquired by George F. and Stella Elkins Tyler between 1919-1929 and opened in 1974, it features over 23 miles of trails including 10.5 miles paved for walking and biking, 9 miles of bridle paths for horseback riding, and 4 miles of hiking paths.
Visitors enjoy a 36-hole disc golf course, community theater, art center, picnic areas, playgrounds, fishing in the creek, the historic Schofield Ford Covered Bridge rebuilt after a 1991 arson fire, and 14 preserved barns exemplifying early Pennsylvania rural architecture.
