Wall Doxey State Park, located seven miles south of Holly Springs in northern Mississippi, centers on a scenic 60-acre spring-fed lake amid rolling hills and forests, named for former governor Wall Doxey.
Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s as one of Mississippi's original state parks, it offers fishing for bass, catfish, and bream with boat rentals, a 2.5-mile nature trail looping the lake for birdwatching over 100 species, two 18-hole disc golf courses, swimming pool, playgrounds, picnic areas, cabins, cottages, and primitive or developed campsites.
Conveniently near Memphis, Oxford, and antebellum homes, the park provides a relaxing getaway with historic lodge exhibits and year-round recreation managed by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
