Built in 1968 and opened in 1970, the 19,300-foot tram supported by 25 towers provides stunning panoramic views of Wallowa Lake's blue waters, the surrounding valley communities like Joseph and Enterprise, the Eagle Cap Wilderness, Wallowa Mountains, and even parts of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho on clear days.
At the top, visitors enjoy over two miles of easy hiking trails to overlooks like Wallowa Valley and Royal Purple, spot wildlife and wildflowers in alpine meadows, and dine at the Summit Grill & Alpine Patio, Oregon's highest restaurant, with the tram operating from mid-May through early October.
