Wygant State Natural Area is a forested state park in Hood River County, Oregon, USA, located about six miles west of Hood River in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, accessible via the Mitchell Point Trailhead parking lot off Interstate 84.
This day-use area, donated in 1933 by the Winch family to honor Oregon Trail pioneers Theodore and Margaret Wygant, features no facilities but offers an 8-mile out-and-back Wygant Trail that starts on a paved, abandoned section of the Historic Columbia River Highway before entering dense Douglas fir forests, crossing creeks, and climbing 2,300 feet via switchbacks to a viewless summit with glimpses of the Gorge from nearby meadows.
