Park
Coleman State Park spans 1,573 acres along the shores of Little Diamond Pond in remote northern New Hampshire's Stewartstown, twelve miles east of Colebrook at 2,375 feet elevation.
Established in 1956 after the state purchased the former Camp Diamond property, it excels for trout fishing in the pond and nearby streams, canoeing and small boating from a launch (10 mph limit), hiking over 28 miles of trails including the northern end of the 55-mile Androscoggin Trail, ATV riding, picnicking, and wildlife viewing of moose, bears, deer, eagles, and more.
The park offers 25 wooded campsites without hookups, one lean-to shelter, and nearby rental lodges, plus year-round access for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing amid its tranquil forested setting.
