Park
Jack Hill State Park, formerly Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park, spans 662 acres in Reidsville on Georgia's coastal plain, renamed in 2020 to honor the late State Senator Jack Hill who secured funding for its facilities including cabins, a splash pad, and golf course expansion.
Once submerged under ancient waters millions of years ago with prehistoric African-like jungles, it now features a 12-acre stocked lake for fishing from docks or rentals like pedal boats, aquacycles, paddleboards, and jon boats, plus an observation deck for spotting beaver dams.
Visitors enjoy an 18-hole Brazell's Creek Golf Course (par 71), mini-golf, playgrounds, basketball, volleyball, outdoor fitness area, picnic shelters, and seasonal attractions amid wiregrass trails near the Ohoopee and Altamaha Rivers. Accommodations include 29 RV/tent campsites with hookups, one walk-in site, 10 cottages facing the golf course with screened porches and fireplaces, and a group shelter for 80.
