Park
Moccasin Creek State Park, Georgia's smallest at 32 acres, sits on the western shore of 2,775-acre Lake Burton in Rabun County within the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest.
Established in 1963 as a campground near the Lake Burton Fish Hatchery and renamed in 1966, it offers easy flat terrain despite mountain surroundings, with 53 tent, trailer, and RV campsites, a wheelchair-accessible fishing pier for trout open to seniors, children under 12, and those with disability licenses, plus a boat dock, ramp, and seasonal canoe rentals.
Visitors enjoy a 1-mile non-game interpretive trail with wildlife observation tower, playground, picnic shelter named for founder Fulton Lovell, Wi-Fi at the office, and proximity to Blue Ridge trails, waterfalls, and trout rearing station tours.
