Park
Perry State Park spans 1,597 acres across two areas on the southwest shore of the 11,150-acre Perry Lake between Topeka and Lawrence in Jefferson County, Kansas, established in 1968 through a partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Nestled in rolling hills, forested bluffs, and hardwood woodlands, it offers excellent fishing for crappie, catfish, walleye, bass, and sauger, boating with two ramps, a swimming beach, hunting in the adjacent 11,000-acre wildlife area for deer, turkey, quail, and waterfowl, plus birdwatching pelicans, eagles, and barred owls.
Over 40 miles of trails cater to hiking, mountain biking (moderate to difficult), and equestrian use including 25 miles of horse paths, with amenities like 300+ campsites (many with hookups), four cabins, five shower houses, picnic shelters, playgrounds, and a fish cleaning station drawing 166,293 visitors in 2022.
