The museum expanded with a 70,000-square-foot Kravis Wing in 1990, transforming the villa into a modern complex while preserving its principal rooms, and features over 16,000 objects focusing on American, Native American, and European art including paintings, sculptures, pottery, basketry, and jewelry from various cultures.
Its 25 acres of formal gardens with rills, pools, and native plants—renovated in 2004—complement indoor exhibits, drawing over 160,000 visitors yearly for rotating shows, education programs, and events in a space blending historic elegance with contemporary displays.
