The Rexburg Idaho Temple, located south of the Brigham Young University–Idaho campus, is the 125th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Announced in 2003 and dedicated in 2008 by President Thomas S. Monson, it was the first temple dedicated by him as church president. The temple stands five stories tall with a white quartz rock finish exterior and a single spire topped by a statue of the angel Moroni.
Inside, it features murals by native artist Leon Parson depicting eastern Idaho’s natural beauty, about 700 art-glass windows with a wheat stalk motif symbolizing the local agricultural heritage, and includes a celestial room, baptistry, four ordinance rooms, and five sealing rooms.
The building covers over 57,500 square feet and serves approximately 47,000 church members in southeastern Idaho, making it a prominent spiritual center in the region. Its dedication followed a public open house that attracted over 200,000 visitors, reflecting its community significance.
