River Rise Preserve State Park

River Rise Preserve State Park, Florida, United States

Park

River Rise Preserve State Park, located six miles north of High Springs off U.S. Route 441 in Florida, is named for the dramatic spot where the Santa Fe River resurfaces after flowing underground for miles through adjacent O'Leno State Park.

Spanning diverse terrain across three physiographic zones with elevations up to 95 feet, it features 35 miles of multi-use trails through quiet woods, huge trees, sinkhole lakes, and 18 natural communities ideal for hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, and abundant wildlife viewing including birds and other species.

A passive preserve with historical significance as a natural land bridge used by Native Americans, Spanish explorers, and settlers, it offers primitive equestrian camping via O'Leno's facilities and closes at sundown.
