Willowdale State Forest is a 2,491‑acre state forest in northeastern Massachusetts, spanning parts of the towns of Hamilton, Topsfield, and Boxford in Essex County.
The forest is divided by Route 1 and features dense pine‑oak‑hickory uplands, red‑maple swamps, and the 100‑acre Hood Pond, which offers fishing and non‑motorized boating such as canoeing. An extensive network of about 40 miles of trails runs through the property, used for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross‑country skiing, and limited hunting, with a section of the long‑distance Bay Circuit Trail connecting it to nearby conservation areas along the Ipswich River corridor.
