Originally O.L. Kipp State Park and renamed in the 1990s, it offers panoramic river views, hardwood forests, and backwaters ideal for birdwatching hawks, eagles, and waterfowl on the major flyway. Visitors hike 6.5 miles of trails to nine overlooks through wooded bluffs and grasslands, camp at 31 drive-in sites plus cart-in and bike-in options, picnic, ski 3 miles groomed trails, snowshoe freely, and enjoy fall colors amid the Richard J. Dorer Memorial Hardwood Forest.
