Park
Lake Bronson State Park spans 4,375 acres in Kittson County, far northwestern Minnesota near the town of Lake Bronson, surrounded by farm fields as an oasis of aspen-oak forests, prairies, and wetlands.
Created in 1936 by damming the South Branch of Two Rivers to combat drought, it centers on a 237-acre reservoir ideal for swimming on sugar-sand dunes, fishing walleye, northern pike, and panfish from piers, boating, canoeing, and waterskiing amid scenic bluffs.
Historic WPA-era features include the tallest observation tower in any Minnesota state park, Camp Bronson, a pioneer cemetery, and 14 miles of hiking/biking trails plus paved paths, with winter snowmobiling, skiing, and 157 campsites offering a peaceful Tallgrass Aspen biome escape rich in wildlife.
