Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington, Utah, began in 1886 as Lake Park, a beach resort on the shores of the Great Salt Lake.
Due to the lake’s receding waters, the park was moved about three miles east in 1896 near Farmington, where it was renamed Lagoon for the man-made lake created there. The park has grown from its original 40 acres to about 160 acres today and is one of the oldest operating amusement parks in the United States.
Lagoon features diverse attractions including thrill rides, a water park called Lagoon-A-Beach, Pioneer Village with authentic 19th-century buildings, and areas for children.
