Resaca de la Palma State Park and World Birding Center, located in Brownsville, Texas, covers 1,200 acres of subtropical native habitat etched by ancient curves of the Rio Grande, forming the largest tract in the World Birding Center network and opening to the public in 2008 after acquisition by Texas Parks and Wildlife in 1977.

This quiet retreat features resacas (oxbow lakes), dense brush, woodlands, marshes, and wetlands supporting over 500 bird species like Altamira orioles, green jays, hook-billed kites, and winter migrants, plus butterflies and other wildlife. Visitors access over eight miles of hiking and biking trails, four observation decks along four miles of resaca, a 2.76-mile tram loop with hourly tours from the visitor center (no private vehicles inside), bird blinds, ranger programs, and interactive maps for exploring this biodiverse Rio Grande Valley gem.
