Reservoir
Scofield Reservoir is a 2,800–2,815‑acre reservoir impounded by Scofield Dam on the Price River in Carbon County, Utah, at an elevation of about 7,600–7,620 feet near the small town of Scofield and roughly 120 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.
The reservoir lies along the northern edge of the Wasatch Plateau and the Manti‑La Sal National Forest, with Utah State Route 96 running along its eastern shore. Scofield is one of Utah’s most important fisheries, known for rainbow trout and cutthroat trout, as well as redside shiner, mountain sucker, and other species, with a reputation as an excellent shore and ice‑fishing venue in winter.
The reservoir also supports boating, camping, and summer recreation through Scofield State Park, which manages two campgrounds and a boat ramp, while serving as a base camp for exploring the high‑mountain lakes, streams, ATV trails, and snowmobiling routes of the Skyline Drive region.
