Mountain Peak
The Three Patriarchs are a group of three towering sandstone monoliths located on the west side of Zion Canyon in Zion National Park, Utah.
Named in 1916 by minister Frederick Vining Fisher after the biblical figures Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, these iconic peaks dominate the landscape with Abraham Peak being the tallest. The monoliths are part of the scenic Court of the Patriarchs, a cliff formation along the south face that also includes the nearby Mount Moroni.
Visitors can view the Three Patriarchs easily from an overlook accessible by a short, steep trail from the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, often reached via the park shuttle. These peaks are notable for their striking reddish-orange Navajo sandstone and are a popular sight in the park, representing both natural grandeur and cultural heritage within Zion’s dramatic canyon setting.
