The park spans 33 acres of temperate rainforest, offering scenic hikes through western hemlock, Sitka spruce, and Alaska yellow cedar trees, and serves as a living history exhibit of Tlingit and Haida culture. Visitors can explore the 15 restored or replicated totem poles and the community house, learning about indigenous stories, symbols, and lifestyles.
Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, it continues as an important site for cultural preservation and education, with guided tours and educational programs illuminating Alaska Native history and artistry.
