Museum
The Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa, Idaho, founded in 1989 by John and Sue Paul, is a military and aviation museum dedicated to preserving and educating visitors about American military history through artifacts and vintage aircraft.
Its collection includes over a dozen historic warplanes such as the P-51 Mustang, F-86 Sabre Jet, UH-1C Huey helicopter, and replicas like the Fokker DR-1 triplane flown in World War I, alongside rare enemy aircraft like Russian MiG-17 and MiG-21 jets from the Cold War era. The museum is housed near Nampa Municipal Airport in a large hangar filled with planes, military memorabilia, personal stories from veterans, and themed exhibits spanning World War I, World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, the Cold War, and the Global War on Terror.
It features rotating exhibits and special events like the annual Warbird Roundup, serving as both an educational resource and a celebration of military aviation heritage, attracting history buffs and aviation enthusiasts. The museum is funded by donations and strives to honor veterans’ sacrifices while keeping their legacy alive for future generations.
