Carved by glaciers about 12,000 years ago with a maximum depth over 30 feet, the park mixes oak woodlands, prairies, and wetlands for excellent fishing of walleye, northern pike, musky, bass, and panfish, plus swimming at a sandy beach, boating from a launch, water-skiing, sailing, canoeing, and kayaking.
Year-round visitors enjoy 5 miles of hiking trails, seasonal camping at 80 sites with electric hookups, group areas, picnic shelters, playgrounds, winter cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, and birdwatching for herons, osprey, eagles, and waterfowl amid vibrant habitats.
